The Smith-Kastner Story
We are a full service financial planning firm with over 50 years of combined experience
Co-founder Perry G. Smith started his career selling life insurance shortly after graduating college in 1976. Over the next 30 years, he built a highly successful business as both a producer and a general agency for General American Life Insurance (now a subsidiary of MetLife). As the practice grew, so did his realization that many of his clients needed so much more than just life and disability insurance. Ever the entrepreneur, in 2004, Perry departed General American with the goal of becoming the Auburn-Opelika community’s most comprehensive financial planning firm.
Around the same time, Nathan A. Kastner was a soon to be graduate of Auburn University, looking to enter the arena of full-service financial planning in a community that did not seem to have many options for those looking for comprehensive retirement planning advice. The rest, as they say, is history!
Today, nearly 40 years after Perry first opened his doors, Smith-Kastner Wealth Management advises hundreds of clients in all areas of insurance, investment, and estate planning.
